Roxanne Jones' new book, "Hellabov ilii," is published by Simon & Schuster. She talks about how she tried to understand her subject in a society that was always throwing shoot at them and putting them in awkward situations. In the poem Weight of remembering is both a synagogue and a graveyard, it unravels into who each woman became when they were looked at verses. And because you yourself as a black person, you don't understand yourself, right? It's so important not to forget your legibility.
