Passover - The Last Supper
A ship like paul's would drift about 36 point five miles a day, bringing them near to malta. They realize that they are approach the land and start to take soundings. Many have seen here an allusion to the last supper. If the crucifixion is paralleled with the shipwreck, it comes at the right point. The specificity of the number 276 is also interesting. However, while the number is tantalizingly specific, no clear symbolic import suggests itself.
