"There's something really powerful about the leadership of black women injustice movements today, right? Black lives matter could not have been as successful as it has in hugely important ways," she says. "We also need to be able to think complexly about ... what pursuing justice looks like in this particular place at this particular time with particular personalities and not just use an identity category to stop discussion."
