The First North Pole
A group of Russian scientists flew to the North Pole in 1948. And one of these scientists was the first to set foot there on the North Pole itself. Who was it? The short answer is we don't know. But since then, people have done all sorts of other things in order to be the first something at the North Pole. People parachuted onto the North pole in 1949,. traveled there by Skidoo or Dog sled in 1968 or on skis in 1979. In 1987, Australian entrepreneur Dick Smith was theFirst to land at the Northpole in a helicopter.
