The us. Federal trade commission, or f t c, will soon send around 60 million dollars to more than a hundred forty thousand drivers for amazon. This is because amazon was illegally withholding tips that the drivers had earned from customers between 20 16 to 20 19. Amazon ultimately settled this case out of court and agreed to return all the money it had stolen from drivers. The company can't change how tips are factored into driver compensation without first acquiring driver's informed consent on the matter.
