Anika says that never ever is it the case that the left hemisphere doesn't come up with some reason. The right whole brain holds up an egg and then because anika would say why are you holding up an egg they would say like oh i had it for breakfast or so i had extra breakfast i guess that's why and they would believe it. Anika: It's just a hundred percent that theleft hemisphere will offer up an explanation even though it has zero idea given the nature of the studies and the nature of of the of the surgery it has no idea how to explain what we're doing.
David and Tamler discuss famous 'split brain' experiments pioneered by Roger Sperry and Michael Gazzaniga. What happens when you cut off the main line of communication between the left and right hemispheres of our brain? Why under certain conditions do the the left and right brains seem like they have different abilities and desires? What does this tell us about the ‘self’? Do we have two consciousnesses, but only that can speak? Does the left brain bully the right brain? Are we all just a bundle of different consciousnesses with their own agendas?
