The Fed's Balance Sheet Growth in 2021 Was Not a Record Year
In 20 21, the fed managed to blow up its balance sheet by one point four trillion dollars. That's a record for an economy not in recession at that time. And i'm convinced if we still measured consumer prices using the same methodology that we used during the 19 seventies, we did set a record in 20 21 with consumer prices rising more than in any prior year. But i think that record won't last, because i think we'll beat it in 20 22. Because everybody now realizes that inflation is not transitory and so there's no longer a reason to hold off on raising prices. You just need to raise em.
