The Third Realization

i've always wondered why none of us, it seems, almost to a person, wants to think about our death. And what i find is that i am not really capable of engaging in any meaningful way with the idea of my own demise or the prospect of a world without me in it. We create these constructions in which our consciousness endures. These become the basis of the world's religions. My speculation is that this is so popular all around the world is because of this neurobiological quirk. Because our brains are built as prediction machines and we can't imagine there isn't a near future.
