The Greatest Marketing Disaster of All Time
Coca-Cola decided to abandon its original formula, the same one they had been using for a century and completely redesign their soft drink. New Coke had a sweeter taste but was distinctly different from the one everyone knew. Coca-Cola headquarters was flooded with hateful letters and phone messages about this abrupt change. Just three months later Coca-Cola would completely abandon new Coke and bring back the original formula which they now branded Coca-Cola Classic.
