Mel Brooks was at his best when he had other strong collaborators, like Gene Wilder. History of the World Part One is very clearly influenced by the Monty Python movies. I think that Young Frankenstein is his best movie in my opinion and it all comes down to Gene Wilder who was the kind of creative force on this movie.
