The big issue with adapting this story for the screen is that it relies on costuming. As soon as I saw this supposedly old man being seated in the restaurant, I could tell it was the nephew dressed up in a wig and whiskers. We've come across this problem so many times over the years while discussing adaptations of Christie. The issue of character disguises is certainly one of the most difficult elements of Christie to convincingly depict on screen.
