The Importance of Recognizing Sanctions as an Act of War
Code pink has several campaigns, including a campaign to end the Cuba blockade. The U.S. imposed a brutal embargo on Cuba for well over 50 years. Sanctions are really objectionable on several grounds: One is that they sometimes are a means of softening an economy so we can then further intervene in that country militarily as we saw in Iraq. It's time to lay the sword and gun away. There'd be no war today if mothers all would say, I didn't raise my boy to be a soldier"
