How to Make Conference Attendance More Convincing
Rana: "I noticed that when these women would want to go to a conference, they would very quickly start to think, well, what's going to happen when I'm gone?" She says the conference environment is not particularly welcoming if you are someone who like is not a cis white straight able bodied man. Rana also doesn't like how we name diversity scholarships as a method of trying to solve the inclusion problem. 'It makes it seem like we're tying in underrepresented people with economically disadvantaged people'
