The Revolt of the Public

Even a person who's well formed by the humanistic tradition, even a carpenter or master craftsman, would be at the mercy of social media and the crowd. There can be no sort of leadership at the grand scale right now because we've lost trust in the very concept of authority. And again, this is why I come back to what is going to push us beyond the lateness of late modernity and to something new.
