I've Written a Revenge Song for Phil Dast
I regret hurting individual people. Phil Dost was a journal with the Guardian in my first year at Edinburgh when I was just, you know, it's not like I had spent years being lauded. He wrote an utterly sneering, one-star review of me that really threw me. A year later when I had to come up with a new show, I thought, well, I'm going to take that guy down. So I wrote the song for Phil Dast which really is a song about me not being able to take criticism. It talks about tearing pieces of his face meat off and making him children watch.
