Jiang Zemin is the most neoliberal anyway of China's leaders, more so than Deng Xiaoping in some important ways. The largest mobilizations to have happened since 1989 occurred in the late 90s and really the early 2000s. And I think that even the protests that we've seen in the last week or two are still not on the scale of those worker uprisings that we saw 20 years ago.
