Kerry: I tried to understand who those folks were on both sides of my genetic library. My father was adopted at 18 months old but did not know of his adoption until he was 21. And in a similar fashion, my Irish ancestors were first racialized and dominated by what one genealogist friend of mine called are Saxon overlords. Kerry: Both categories of my ancestors moved towards whiteness and moved towards acceptance and dominance.
