neural correlates were a really important idea back in the 80s when brain scanning started, because the brain was the one about the brain. But I think it's really sad that people still talk that way - we don't just have to think about the neural coral. That's just an observation. You can explain the neural call. It's by describing the neural mechanisms. And that's what theoretical neuroscience does. Chris Elias misapproaching some other approaches in theoretical neuroscience.
