Puerto Rico has a very long history that we don't necessarily have access to, especially for Puerto Ricans who may not speak Spanish. There is this sense of characters are moving between Puerto Rico and the U.S., constantly trying to in Spanish this word is Lidiar. And all those things that I grapple with in both my memoir and fiction, they pretty much are the same.
