The Fathimit Caliph's Demise

The fathimit caliph himself suffered from the calamitous seven year dearth of ten 65 72. In those years, the city succumbed to panic bread and was auctioned at an unbelievable 12 dinars a loaf. Some were said to have resorted to fitting meat hooks to ropes so as to unlucky pedestrians of the street and eat them. The historian al marisi says the caliph al musansir, was forced to sell precious objects, furniture, horses, arms, and eventually all the movable contents of his palace.
