I spent a year and a half building an idea without spending enough time incessantly understanding who's the customer, what is their problem. It takes about six to nine months of incredible amount of interviews to do that. But I did learn a whole bunch of other things. You can count on a founder who is so focused on understanding a problem. Because who knows what's going to work and what's the right solution, etc.
