The Mirror-Like Awareness of Knowing

The knowing faculty functions in the same way regardless of what it is that's arising. In this sense, we could call it, it's like a mirror-like awareness. One of the most inspiring examples for me of this insight is that of Henry David Thoreau and many of you on other retreats may have heard this often. He died in his 40s, he was 44 I think, and he was dying of TB.
