The Importance of Auto Antibodies in Transfusions
In most cases, transfusing someone with a warm auto antibody and an anti little C or an anti big K is going to be way more important to them clinically. That's going to affect the type of cells that you select for transfusion. You still need antigen negative units, even though the auto antibody might make them incompatible because you're definitely going to have those units cleared in a way. But we want to prevent destruction of any transfused red cells by aloanibodies.
