Federichi's Counterfactual Reading of History
Federichi challenges marx's idea that communism has to emerge through capitalism. She suggests we look back almost nostalgically on these past communal peasant movements as a source for inspiration. Some historians who work within the marx's tradition have pushed back against marx on this question and maybe have made a defense of somewhat of an nostalgic move despite the reactionary potential of that move. Allyson: Marxists want to dismiss decolonial perspectives as nostalgic but this move is a little problematic i think this dismissal kind of stems from a failure to adapt our marxist analysis to more thorough understanding of colonization.
