Crunchy role refused to meet the union, and as such, McCarley and a few other cast members walked away from the job. This all happened despite McCarley saying he loved playing the character and that it wasn't about the money. The company is clearly unabashedly crossing that fine line between what's legal and what's moral. If people have nowhere else to go, they have no leverage.
