Judd Apatow's Life in the Head
"Freaks and geeks" is based on Paul Giamatti's high school experience. He wrote the pilot in two weeks, sent it to Judd Apatow within 12 hours. The show was inspired by his friend Matt Reeves who created Felicity with JJ Abrams. Fox recently passed on a similar idea about a rookie psychiatrist called sick in the head.
