Is It Possible to Face Up to Injustice Without Sacrificing Everything?
There's gun violence, erosion of democracy and homelessness. If you ignore these issues well then they're never going to improve says the author. Simon Veil was a first and second world war French philosopher who led this saintly life. The ideas I find most helpful here come from American political theorist Iris Marion Young she's one of the thinkers who developed the idea of structural injustice. For me an empowering way to respond to the sense of the overwhelming injustice of the world is find something local.
