Designers often place abstract concepts into concrete objects. Why do you think we do that? What i try to encourage with my students is to understand deep values. And the values just mean things that matter to people, things that have meaning for people. If we can build those values and make them real through des ind then i think you will find higher levels of satisfaction.
Dr. Dori Tunstall joined OCAD University in 2016 as Dean of Design. She is a design anthropologist, public intellectual, and design advocate who works at the intersections of critical theory, culture, and design.
