Sakaguchi: I think that the reason the X-Men are wearing all black leather in the early 2000s is because they were afraid that people would say this is gay. The future seems very bright for Sakaguchi but the future also seems bright for one other star Sakaguchi's virtual heroine Aki it would seem. Read a quote from the official US PlayStation magazine issue 47 from August 2001 which of course comes out a couple months earlier so it predates the release of Final Fantasy the Spirits.
