The Legacy of Charlotte Perkins Gilman
In 1922, Charlotte Perkins Gilman returns to Connecticut and she lives in Norwich with her husband until he dies in 1934. And then shortly after that, she discovers that she has an inoperable breast cancer. As a result of that, she commits suicide on August 17, 1935. She was 75 when she overdoses on chloroform intentionally and leaves a note. Um, she was cremated and her ashes went to family. So we cannot, there's no grave to go visit that I am aware of. Mm hmm. What right do women have and what role do they serve in society? Let's examine it.
