The Origins of the Odyssey and Aeneid

In the Greco-Roman world, we have the concepts of Hades and tours to the underworld. And even though the hearers of the New Testament might not have been literate or reading those stories, those stories were so widely shared and told. So it was a part of the kind of understanding that you would tell these stories in order to educate audiences.
