The Last Rights of Betty Lou Oliver
When the plane hit, parts of the engine flew ahead and severed the lifting cables of the elevators that had been at the 79th floor. A young elevator operator named Betty Lou Oliver started to plunge down the elevator shaft from the 79thfloor. She broke her pelvis in her back and her neck, but she survived. We all felt a little better to know that someone knew we were there.
