Love Your Neighbor and Do Good to Those Who Hate You and Persecute You

Anger is what's called a capital vice, and that means it's one of these vices that leads to many other sins. Envy is one also, and that comes into play with Cain and Abel. Lust is another one that came into play in Saint Maria Geretti's story. And so this is why we are invited to forgive. This is why we go to the sacrament of reconciliation, of penance, in order to be forgiven. That frees us up to show love and forgiveness to others.
