French Revolution & Napoleon (Grey History)

CHAPTER

The Parliament of Dauphin, a Provincial Miniature States General

The parliament of dauphin had used the cover of darkness to slip away, to escape their own rescuers. Their rescuers who, in a sense, were now, perhaps unintentionally, perhaps unknowingly, perceived to be their captors. In summoning its provincial estates, grinoble cemented its place as the cradle of the revolution. There would finally be an estates general in france, occurring at a provincial level. This estates general would not havers all of france, but all france was none the less. Watching its impact on national affairs was significant. I think we can all agree that the challenging of established social and power structures is itselfextraordinarily extraordinary.
