Ana Montez's Career at the DIA
Ana Montez continued to climb the ranks within the DIA. Some experts have said that even if she had been at the CIA, she wouldn't have had the same access. The first couple of times she would meet with her Cuban handlers in New York and she realized that was really very dangerous because they were known to the FBI. So she insisted that she have cutouts. Cutouts are people who work for the Cubans but with no known association with them. It could be someone in the business world or a lawyer or it could be a cab driver.
