How Does Jesus Meet Us in Our Longings and Desires?

How does Jesus meet us in our longing and desires? What if 10 to 20 years go by and what I'm hoping for just doesn't come true? There's so many ways we could talk about this, but these are hard questions that we all have to wrestle with. It's our ability to become like Jesus and state our desires to God, but also be fully content with whatever he chooses to give us because we believe that whatever he gives us ultimately will be good.
