The Importance of Sacrifice

Sydney: I think that women are very sacrificial at heart. That's instincts that God has put in us as like hardwiring us for wifehood and motherhood. And so if you, if we don't lift that up for women, then of course they're going to resent all of the challenges that motherhood inevitably brings. When you are sacrificing and when you are that vulnerable, that's why you need to find the right husband. So great. Thank you guys so much for jumping on here and talking with me about this today. Yes Bye.

Yeah, that's the

kind of thing that mom was talking about, like instant gratification where we're like, I have to do it now, because when you're like, graduating, if you're 17, you're graduating, you live such a little life and you don't realize that you have so much time to go that you have so many opportunities that you don't need to cram it all into the first years, and then end up being like 40 and being like, wait, wait, there's so much more and I can't even have a family now or I can't have kids or something like that, where you could instead be 40 and like open your own business when your kids are all growing up or something like that. Awesome.
Speaker 1
Well, guys, I was, I was really good conversation. Anybody have any last things you want to say before
Speaker 3
we sign off? I had one thought like about how we

kind of lost our sense of like, sacroclines. I think that women are very sacrificial at heart. Like that's, that's instincts that God has put in us as like hardwiring us for wifehood and motherhood. And I think just like that part of us has been kind of suppressed in the favor of like authenticity and like following your dreams and stuff. And I just think that's a virtue that has to be brought back like making sacrifices in the know in favor of your future. That kind of stuff out to me. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah. I think both men and women need that story more than ever that, you know, this is part of I think we're supposed to learn that is, and this is again, this is one of those values that used to exist almost everywhere until recently is the family was, was considered more important than the individual in that it was a noble thing for both men and women to sacrifice their lives for their families. And that taught them how to sacrifice like you're describing Sydney. But today that's actually considered toxic. You're going to a counselor and say, look, I'm just trying to sacrifice for my family. They immediately say, that's really unhealthy. You look out for yourself. You know, there's something, you know, really wrong with, with your mentality. And so that's not because, you know, the counselor suddenly has, you know, some kind of insight that that everyone's always had. That's a very new idea. That's a new value that our society has decided to adopt. And that has become so normal that the idea that sacrifice is a virtue is virtually disappeared. So it's a really good observation because motherhood is so steeped in sacrifice. And so if you, if we don't lift that up for women, then of course they're going to just very much resent all of the challenges that motherhood inevitably brings. And just to come full circle, when you are sacrificing and when you are that vulnerable, that's why you need to find the right husband. Because it's so dangerous to put yourself under in, you know, at the, you know, at the mercy of a man who doesn't love you, who doesn't appreciate that, doesn't understand what you're giving. And that's, it forces you to start to look out for yourself. That kind of the cascade that occurs in the family and in the individual and in society by assuming that that's what men are like is really, really dangerous. So great. Thank you guys so much for jumping on here and talking to me about this today. Yeah.
Speaker 3
Thanks, Abby. It's our pleasure. Yes. Bye.
