Is There a Danger in Machine Learning?
Is there a danger then that what it will do in essence is to replace human beings? I think as somebody who's worked in machine learning and even computer science and engineering for years, that's always been an issue or a threat at the back of our minds. If we create tools that make certain types of tasks easier, is that ethically right when we consider the implications that can have for jobs? We can't look into that future. Do I think certain types of industries will be threatened by technology like this because it's certainly not there yet? Yes, I do. But I also think the nature of certain other types of activities will change.
