The Watergate Committee Document
Scott armstrong was working on the watergate committee in July of 19 73. A stenographer gave him a memo she thought he would want to see. It contained notes from a secret conversation between a republican member and Nixon adviser john dene. To armstro this document looked like a crib sheet that had been slipped to the republican side of the senate committee by the nixon white house. This memo proved that the republic had maintained a back channel with the white house.
