The Moria Empire: A Brief History
During Ashoka's reign we see the empire at its greatest extent. The interior of India was notoriously challenging to campaign and filled with hostile tribes. This is perhaps why Ashoka turned to the eastern Kalinga kingdom, located largely in modern Odisha. They had resisted against Moria rule for some time, and since they were located on the eastern seaborn, they were the logical next step in the conquest. Unsurprisingly, it was a rather brutal and bloody affair.
