Rebecca Gordon is a clinical scientist at Health Services Laboratory specialising in fungal infection. Here she shows you two typical examples of fungi that we isolate. Candida oris is our superbug, it's multi drug resistant and can grow within 24 to 48 hours when treated with drugs. filamentous fungi are the stuff that grows out in the environment but also growing in patients' lungs as they breathe spores in.
