The ultimate mission at spaceax is to make life multiplanetary. The way that's achieved is by making the cost of space flight less so driving the cost of getting to orbit down. Siok, well, how do you do that? That's a very opaque, difficult problem to solve. And our tangible method for solving that problem was reusability. But the architecture of that vehicle is kind of limiting in the sense that the second stage is not recoverable. So that's where starship and rapter come in, where starship is a fully reasonable two stage vehicle that will dramatically change the way people view space flight.
