The Importance of Awareness
The first pillar of well-being is awareness and it includes our capacity to focus our attention. The Center for Healthy Minds have done research on how being in the moment can affect immunity. After eight weeks of mindfulness practice, meditators showed significantly greater antibody titers in response to the influenza vaccine. When we're not paying attention to what we're doing we're actually less happy.
