Definition of Social Determinants of Health

A good use of the term is actually very politically effective or can lead us to very politically effective places. The social determinants of health include where you live, the state of your housing, the food you have access to and how much education you've received. For example, if you're living conditions mean you don't have nearby access to healthy food or affordable transportation to a better grocery store,  you are much more likely to eat poorly, become stressed, get sick and wind up in an emergency room.
