I was given five years of support to study what we know about human cognition. During this matrix, I came to the conclusion that the human intellect is better described as seven relatively independent computers than a single all-purpose computer. Until the very late into the development of these ideas, I didn't even use the word intelligence. But if I'd written a book called Seven Talents, you and I wouldn't be speaking to them. It's because I wrote a book called Theory of Multiple Intelligence which has got everybody's attention.
