Xenophon's Diadorus
Xenophon and part of his mercenary forces join the service first of the Thracian King Suthis, and then the Spartans. He came into contact with the Spartan King, Agesalaeus II, and formed admiration and respect for each other. Xenophon was exiled from Athens on a charge of Lacanism, meaning he was pro-Spartan. His two young sons were allowed to undergo the Spartan educational system known as the Agogae.
