The Decalogue of the Old Testament and the New Testament

St. Thomas divides the 613 mosaic laws into three categories: moral, ceremonial and juridical. The old law induces Israelites to obey by fear of punishment, as children toward an adult, whereas the new law induces its observance by love, as like an adult. We choose to say the Old Testament and the Old law cannot be taken out of context of the whole art of salvation history.
