The History of the North and South Palaces
We don't know anything about what happened in the palace because we don't, it's not like the Australian palaces where we have tons of texts that tell us what happened there. So do we think therefore that these palaces primarily had a defensive purpose or do they serve multiple purposes? Do we still not know that much about what activities would have gone on within the palaces? Yeah, about the North Palace, we know very little. About the South Palace, well, it was the residence of the king. It's a very large palace. There were function arrays, no servants, there were the private quarters for the royal family and so on.
