The Sanhedrin's Stacking the Deck Against Jesus
"I don't think the whole Sanhedrin is there," says author. "There's members of the body like Nicodemus and Joseph that are on the Sanhedrin that stick up for Jesus." The Jews know they can't get Jesus convicted by Rome for any claims religiously, he could talk about being a Messiah or an anointed one. That's what a Mashiachis or Christos is - an anointed to be king. If they can get Jesus on this, they can get him convicted by Rome.
