The New Jerusalem Was to Be an Earthly Utopia

Some of those whom I have called the discontent of modern industrial civilization in the 18th and 19th century avidly seized upon this theological image. Their New Jerusalem was to be an earthly utopia. They are the people that the moral majority have come to call secular humanists. The secular humanists are going to bring down the Christian heaven and earth. This battle was conceived originally as a struggle of ideas, a mantle battle.
